Adventist Church in Central Philippines ‘Preach’ Program Champions Christian Unity Across Denominational Boundaries

Religious leaders and members from various Christian denominations gathered at Fine Rock Hotel for a faith-sharing event, fostering unity and understanding. The initiative aimed to build bridges, promote dialogue, and dispel misconceptions about the Seventh-day Adventist Church, encouraging greater collaboration in the spirit of Christian fellowship.

This annual event, held on August 15, 2024, brought together pastors and representatives from the United Pentecostal Church, Baptist Church, Church of the Nazarene, and Roman Catholic congregations. This initiative promotes ongoing relationships with other Christian denominations, promoting a healthy exchange as all recognize the shared mission of spreading the gospel and the hope found in the Bible.

With the theme 'Preach,' the organizers of this initiative aimed to highlight two key goals. First, they sought to emphasize the shared mission of all Christians: proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. Second, they aimed to encourage unity among denominations, inspiring collaboration despite doctrinal differences. By focusing on a common theme, participants were able to center on what unites them in their faith and mission."

During the event, participants engaged in meaningful dialogue to address misconceptions and clarify practices that often lead to division among Christian groups. These conversations played a vital role in building mutual respect and understanding, helping to strengthen relationships among the attendees.

Pastor Felixian T. Felicitas, Field Secretary of the Adventist Church in the Southern Asia-Pacific region, delivered a message centered on the grace found at Calvary and how this grace unites all believers in their commitment to God.

After the message, pastors from various religious affiliations participated in an open dialogue, sharing their reflections on the message and expanding on the truths and principles presented from their own faith perspectives. Throughout the discussion, they upheld a spirit of respect and courtesy, honoring the shared Christian values of those in attendance.

The conversation offered a valuable opportunity for mutual understanding, where differences in doctrine could be expressed and respectfully explored. More than just a gathering, this event served as a call to greater unity within the Christian community, reminding all participants that the mission of sharing the gospel is every denomination’s top priority. It demonstrated that, regardless of denominational affiliation, Christians can collaborate to build stronger, more inclusive relationships, united in their shared purpose of spreading Christ’s message to the world.
