The Adventist Church in the Southeastern Philippines region(SePUM) brought together 119 content creators, social media influencers and communication leaders for its first virtual worship gathering on Oct. 22.
Held through Zoom, the event sought to unite the church’s digital communicators, strengthen coordination and encourage the creation of Christ-centered content in support of SePUM’s evangelistic mission and OneVoice27 strategy.
Pastor Danielo Palomares, SePUM president and chair of its Media Board, delivered the main message. Drawing from 2 Timothy 4:1–4, he urged participants to use digital platforms to proclaim biblical truth amid the growing influence of online content on people’s beliefs and decisions.
Palomares emphasized the responsibility of content creators and social media influencers to communicate the gospel clearly and faithfully. His message followed renewed discussions about digital evangelism during the Adventist World Church’s 2026 Annual Council, held Oct. 7–14 in Silver Spring, Maryland, United States.
Rhoen Shane P. Catolico, SePUM director of Communication, Media, Public Affairs and Religious Liberty, said the gathering was organized to bring the church’s content creators together as digital missionaries and align their work with the AVID framework.
AVID calls for content to be:
Audible — clear, engaging and able to connect with its intended audience;
Visible — supported by strong visual presentation and creative branding;
Intentional — created with a clear purpose of leading people to Christ; and
Digital — adapted to current communication platforms and trends.
Organizers said the framework is intended to guide the development of social media posts, videos, livestreams, podcasts, graphics, online Bible studies and personal testimonies. It also supports OneVoice27 by encouraging communicators to work with a shared mission and consistent message.
The initiative places greater emphasis on ministry impact than on accumulating views, reactions or followers. Participants were encouraged to produce content that is biblically grounded, responsible, relevant and centered on Christ.
Pastor Mark Sinilong, associate pastor of the San Joaquin District in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, described the gathering as an opportunity to better align his online ministry with the church’s direction.
Sinilong, who has created online content for nearly two years and has gained about 16,000 followers, said the meeting helped participants recognize how their platforms could support a common mission.
“We may provide the digital space with different content, but we can maximize it now in consonance with the direction to lift up Jesus and motivate the church to inform the world with urgency about the truth we possess,” he said.
Organizers said the participation of 119 people demonstrated the potential of online platforms to connect communicators from different locations for worship, training and collaboration.
Through the initiative, SePUM aims to build a coordinated network of digital missionaries who can extend the church’s message beyond traditional venues and strengthen its online evangelistic work leading into OneVoice27.
