Adventist Hospitals in the Philippines Unveil Major Expansion Plans

Edward Rodriguez

Adventist hospitals in the Philippines play a vital role in building connections between the church and the community. As the right arm of the church’s evangelistic ministry, these institutions are at the forefront of promoting Adventist healthcare and the biblical health message within their spheres of influence. Recognizing the need to strengthen this mission, several Adventist hospitals across the country have expressed a commitment to enhancing their services. Their ongoing development plans include acquiring state-of-the-art medical equipment, expanding facilities, and improving healthcare accessibility for underserved populations.

Adventist Medical Center—Iligan

The Adventist Medical Center in Iligan City recently broke ground on a new Hemodialysis Center in Baroy, Lanao Del Norte, South Philippines. With full support from the local government, the ceremony marked the beginning of construction at Brgy. Lower Sagadan on Thursday, January 30, 2025. Once completed, the facility will provide life-saving kidney treatments to more than 24,000 individuals in the community, improving access to essential healthcare services.

Adventist Hospital—Palawan

In Puerto Princesa, Palawan, the leadership of Adventist Hospital Palawan has approved an expansion plan to enhance its services and administrative operations. On February 3, 2025, the hospital broke ground on a new laboratory and blood bank expansion to accommodate more patients. Situated in a popular tourist destination, Adventist Hospital Palawan aims to improve healthcare access through these new facilities.

As part of its commitment to comprehensive healthcare, the hospital also launched the Konsulta (Consult) Clinic, an outpatient service aligned with the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law. UHC guarantees all Filipinos equitable access to quality and affordable healthcare services while providing financial protection.

On the administrative front, Adventist Hospital Palawan recently completed renovations of its Human Resources and Accounting offices, further enhancing operational efficiency.

Adventist Hospital—Davao

A wave of developments is set to unfold in the region as Adventist Hospital Davao embarks on a major facility expansion to enhance healthcare services and meet the growing needs of the community.

On February 24, 2025, hospital leaders held a dedication ceremony for newly acquired equipment and facilities, signifying their readiness to enhance patient care and community service.

Among the key acquisitions is a state-of-the-art generator, a vital addition to the hospital’s infrastructure. Designed to ensure a stable power supply during outages, this generator plays a critical role in maintaining seamless hospital operations and safeguarding patient care.

The hospital also acquired a new CT scanner equipped with state-of-the-art features, enhancing its radiology services to meet modern medical standards. Meanwhile, the existing CT scanner from Adventist Hospital Davao, still fully functional, was donated to Adventist Hospital Calbayog to extend its service and benefit more patients.

As part of the hospital’s ongoing developments, new laboratory equipment for histopathology was acquired to enhance diagnostic capabilities. Other upgrades include the procurement of non-corrosive oxygen tanks, the addition of an Endoscopy CV-190 system for advanced video processing in endoscopic procedures, and the construction of isolation rooms. Additionally, new staff housing facilities were built to accommodate hospital personnel, further supporting the institution’s commitment to quality healthcare and employee welfare.
