      Urban Center of Influence in Cambodia Celebrates 44 Baptisms

      Forty-four students were baptized at the Battambang Urban Center of Influence (UCI), marking a significant milestone for the Adventist Church in Cambodia (CAM). The group has been officially welcomed as a newly organized company within the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

      More than 100 individuals, including church members and guests, gathered to witness the baptismal ceremony, which celebrated the public declaration of faith by the students. The event underscored the growing influence of holistic Adventist ministries in the country.

      Located in one of Cambodia’s key provinces, the Battambang UCI operates as a mission-driven hub offering various services to meet the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of the community. Ministries include music and English language classes, basic health services, family and lifestyle seminars, and values-based education programs. These initiatives are designed to build relationships, foster trust, and open doors for spiritual conversations in a culturally sensitive manner.

      Pastor Hang Dara, president of the Cambodia Adventist Mission, emphasized the strategic role of education and community services in the church’s outreach.

      “Education is not only about imparting knowledge but also about transforming lives,” Dara said. “We praise God for what He has accomplished here today and look forward to seeing how these young people will continue to grow in their faith.”

      In a country where approximately 97% of the population practices Buddhism, mission outreach faces unique challenges. However, urban centers of influence like the one in Battambang are proving to be vital entry points for reaching diverse groups in urban areas. Through practical ministry, these centers provide avenues to share the love of Christ and model Christian values.

      The Cambodia Adventist Mission continues to expand its presence across the country through schools, learning centers, and health initiatives. The recent baptisms are part of a broader movement to engage and disciple young people through education and service.

      As the newly baptized students begin their spiritual journey, church leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to nurturing them in faith and supporting their continued growth. The event serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of compassion-driven missions in changing lives and building the kingdom of God in challenging environments.
