Ted Wilson re-elected for its third term as General Conference president

      June 6, 2022

The 61st General Conference Nominating Committee elected Elder Ted N. C. Wilson as the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s president. The 61st General Conference Session of the Seventh-day Adventists organized a hybrid meeting, providing both face-to-face and virtual access to millions of Adventist members worldwide.

At the conclusion of the GC Session's Day 1, the nominating committee reported the results of the vote with 1284 delegates voting YES and 431 voting NO. Ted Wilson is re-elected to serve as the Seventh-day Adventist Church president for its third term beginning in 2010.

After the announcement, Wilson and his wife were invited to take the stage to deliver a message of acceptance to more than 1,800 delegates and thousands of people joining virtually.

“Being a president is not something that an ordinary human being can do, it is only through the power of the Holy Spirit,” said Ted Wilson, re-elected president of the Seventh-day Adventist World Church.

“Church members, church officers, pastors, uniting and working together as the Spirit of Prophecy is leading that God’s work will be finished. As the Holy Spirit infuses its power into our church members and our pastors unitedly working, God can do wonders,” Wilson added.

Ted Wilson served the Seventh-day Adventist Church in different leadership capacities. His first few years of pastoral ministry began in New York and was immediately called to serve administratively in various mission fields around the world.

Wilson is married to Nancy. They were gifted with three daughters. Each member of Wilson’s family is a partner in ministry doing different missions with the spiritual gifts which God equipped them to have.

Ted Wilson’s dedication and hard work in the ministry was recognized and was eventually given the responsibility to be one of the world church’s vice president in 2000.

In recent years, strategic plans downloaded to local churches have been effective and helpful for the church’s progress. His leadership since 2010 has paved way for numerous opportunities for churches to reach out to the world utilizing both traditional and modern ideas to reach different people groups in our generation.

As Elder Ted Wilson ventured to another term in his leadership, he invited the delegates to join him in prayer as he faces the challenge of leading the last day remnants.
