Southern Asia-Pacific Division welcomes new Adventist Mission director

Joni Roger Oliveira arrives at the Southern Asia-Pacific Division office for the first time two months after his election. Oliveira will be the director in charge of the Adventist Mission, Adventist Volunteers Services, and he was also elected as one of the division's Associate Executive Secretary. After his ordination, he served as a district pastor in Pirai do Sul and Vista Alegre, both in the Central Parana Conference in the South Union in Brazil. In 2013, he received a call to serve as the Youth and Pathfinder Ministry Director at the same conference. In 2016, Joni was called to serve in the West Central Brazilian Union and served in the same capacity until 2018. He was then called to serve in the South American Division as Assistant Secretary and Coordinator of Adventist Volunteer Service and Rencounter Evangelism. It was here that Joni accepted his call to serve in the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SSD). Joni is highly qualified for his role, holding a degree in Theology, a post-degree in Family Counseling, and a Master's degree in Missiology from UNASP Campus Engenheiro Coelho. He is dedicated to motivating people, especially young people, to commit to the Lord and His mission. Joni Roger Oliveira is a dedicated pastor who has been serving the Lord for 17 years. He is devoted to his family and to serving God and His church. He is highly qualified and motivated to help others commit to the Lord and His mission. He is married to Caroline Menezes de Oliveira and is the proud father of two daughters, Lisie (11 years old) and Livia (8 years old). He is passionate about his family and is dedicated to serving God and His church. Edward Rodriguez, SSD Communication Department
