      SADFree and Youth Alive AIU chapter train facilitators for the Youth Alive program

      Youth leaders from the Asia-Pacific International University (AIU) trained to become facilitators for the Youth Alive program of the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists on August 20-22, 2021, at the AIU campus in Saraburi Province, Thailand.  70 Youth Alive facilitators came via Zoom and trained under the theme: “Making Room for God”.

      The Online meetings were facilitated by Mr. Aeron de Guzman, president of the SADFree Movement and Youth Alive AIU Chapter.  He is currently a junior student of the Faculty of Science at Asia-Pacific International University.  

      Keynote speaker Dr. Rhalf Jayson Guanco, a faculty of the Adventist University of the Philippines, talked about positive psychology and issues related to mental health. 

      During the Sabbath School program Mrs. Ami Rafael Fabroa, a faculty of the Adventist University of the Philippines, emphasized the importance of physical health and proper diet.  SSD Health director Dr. Lalaine Alfanoso and her husband, Dan discussed topics on overcoming drugs, pornography, and addictions in social media.  In the afternoon, during the Adventist Youth program, Pastor Ron Genebago, youth director of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division, discussed topics on love, courtship, and marriage.

      The trainees had the opportunity to ask questions from their resource persons during the open forum.  During the commitment service Pastor Francis Amer, youth director of the Southeast Asia Union Mission, emphasized the importance of having a right relationship with God. 

      Youth Alive is a program designed to build resilience among teens and young adults by equipping them to make healthy choices. Through the Youth Alive Program teens can better understand their gifts and their purpose. https://youthaliveportal.org/en
