Production of more Adventist Online Resources in the Philippines is on its way, thanks to new media facility

      November 8, 2022

On November 8, 2022, the Southern Asia-Pacific Division Media Center will officially open at the division campus in Silang, Cavite, Philippines. More online resources and content that may be used for the online distribution and broadcast content for broader public consumption will be made possible by the new media facility.

“This new facility is designed to cater to video, audio, and social media requirements that will produce content intended to introduce Jesus and His character to its recipients,” Mamerto Guingguing II said, former Communication director and now elected as the associate executive secretary of the Southern Asia-Pacific office. “It all started with a dream, and now the Lord has granted us this facility. Now it is time to make this facility perform its purpose of sharing hope and healing of Jesus to others through the digital platform,” Guingguing added.

The Adventist Church in Southern Asia-Pacific's Digital Evangelism Specialist, Anthony Stanyer, sees tremendous prospects in leveraging this medium to give the internet community a completely new watching experience for Christian programming. Stanyer emphasized the duty that God has placed in our hands to use this platform to share Jesus with various people groups and civilizations, particularly in this area of great cultural diversity.

“I’m excited to see what the Lord has in store for us as we make content through this facility,” Stanyer said. “Our goal is that people will get to experience Jesus not just through the script but through every color, angle, and perspective we project; people will be drawn to watch because they can relate and they understand the message,” he added.

Language is one of the division's biggest obstacles. Most of the 14 nations in the Southern Asia-Pacific region speak their native tongue. The objective of the media center is to close that gap and produce content that will convey the message to all of this region's nations, tribes, and residents.

In a special message, Pastor Erton Kohler, executive secretary of the Adventist World Church, thanked the Lord for His guidance and providence throughout the facility’s building.

"This is the time when we need more facilities that will produce content for mission," Kohler said. "Let us hasten and do not delay! This generation can be reached through this avenue, let us utilize every means available so we can share the message of hope with the world," he added.

Pastor Roger Caderma, president of the Division, supports using digital media to make relevant content to reach this generation. “Digital media is the fastest way, the widest coverage in reaching a diverse group of people who are seeking life answers,” Caderma said. “The Bible has all the answers to all their questions; we will have it available to them through this medium,” he added.
