Penang Adventist Hospital partners with Firefly Airlines to revolutionize Malaysian medical tourism

One of the most prestigious institutions in Malaysia, the Penang Adventist Hospital, has strengthened its position in the community by forming a strategic alliance with Firefly Airlines to promote medical travel to the nation.

On February 17, 2023, in Aryaduta Medan, the Penang Adventist Hospital and Firefly Airlines conducted a signing ceremony to establish their collaboration formally. This partnership between the hospital and the airline aims to provide Indonesian travelers with greater opportunities to visit Penang while obtaining medical care.

The cooperation between the hospital and the airline, according to Ronald Koh Wah Heng, president, and chief executive officer of Penang Adventist Hospital, aims to bring in medical tourists from other countries to get top-notch medical treatment in Penang.

Firefly's new route between Medan and Penang had its debut flight, on which Mr. Ronald Koh, CEO of PAH, and Captain Hamdan Che Ismail, COO of Firefly, arrived. There will be additional possibilities for Indonesian visitors traveling to Penang thanks to this new direct aircraft route. With this, Firefly passengers traveling to and from Penang from Medan and Banda Aceh can take advantage of specialized health screening packages at discounted prices from PAH.

“It is a great opportunity for the Penang Adventist Hospital to partner with different industries in the country and to introduce Adventist healthcare and lifestyle to business partners and tourists,” said Ronald Koh.

“This opens up more avenues for the hospital to reach out and share God’s hope and healing through the ministry of health,” Koh added.

Penang Adventist Hospital recently celebrated 98 years of existence and looks forward to more opportunities to serve the community in Penang.
