      Newly Elected Directors to Serve Adventist Church in the Southern Luzon Philippines

      The newly established Southern Luzon Philippine Union Mission (SLPUM) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has successfully concluded its first constituency meeting, marking a pivotal moment in the region’s history. Delegates from across the new union territory gathered to elect the first set of department directors who will lead the organization in fulfilling its mission of spreading the gospel and serving communities.

      The formation of SLPUM was finalized after a series of historic events. On November 19, 2024, the constituency of the North Philippine Union Conference (NPUC) approved the dissolution of NPUC to facilitate the creation of two independent union organizations: the Northern Luzon Philippine Union Mission (NLPUM) and SLPUM. This restructuring aims to enhance the efficiency of church operations and bring the administrative structure closer to the field for more effective ministry.

      The following day, November 20, 2024, NLPUM held its first constituency meeting, where its new department directors were elected. Inspired by the success of their northern counterpart, SLPUM convened its first constituency meeting on November 21, 2024, to organize its leadership structure.

      The elected directors for SLPUM will oversee the ministries of the new organization, guiding efforts in areas such as evangelism, education, health, family ministries, youth, and more. Their work will support the mission's overarching goal of spiritual growth, community development, and outreach within Southern Luzon territories.

      Below is the list of newly elected SLPUM directors:

      1. Relino Urbi, VP NDR/IEL/SSPM

      2. Delba de Chavez, Women’s/Family Ministries

      3. Agnes Ravalo, Education

      4. Armando Ogmar, Publishing/Spirit of Prophecy Coordinator

      5. Jade Hintay, Health/APM

      6. Diovelyn Cajobe, Childrens/Ministerial Spouses Association

      7. Josue Baldera, Youth/Stewardship Ministries

      8. Jose Orbe, Jr., Communication/PARL/PGTS

      9. Adriel Gavenia, Ministerial Secretary

      The newly elected administrators and directors of the Southern Luzon Philippine Union Mission gathered for their first historic group photo, marking the commencement of the organization's operations.

      Due to the vacuum created by the election of the above directors, the following posts from lower organizations have also been filled:

      Cavite Mission

      Lea Fabon, Treasurer

      Palawan Mission

      Eliezer Barientos, President

      Ramil Rey, Executive Secretary

      Mindoro Islands Mission

      David Morado, President 

      The leadership teams of both NLPUM and SLPUM are expected to play a vital role in empowering local churches, facilitating resource distribution, and strengthening ministry initiatives throughout their territories. Delegates expressed optimism that this new chapter will lead to more focused and impactful church programs.

      As SLPUM begins its journey, prayers and support from members across the Southern Asia-Pacific Division are requested to ensure a fruitful ministry under God’s guidance.
