Judge baptism highlights Adventist Lawyers Online Evangelism

The Adventist Lawyers of the Philippines conclude its online evangelism initiative today with baptism of Judge Ofelia Puerto Cabahug and her two children. This two-week evangelism activity, dubbed Law and Prophecy, started in August 23 and culminates in September 5. This effort was born out of a burning desire to take an active role in the mission of the church to make disciples of people and prepare them for Jesus’ coming.

Judge Ofelia Puerto Cabahug is the Presiding Judge of the Municipal Trial Court of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur. She is a graduate of the University of the Philippines-Diliman and Ateneo De Davao University College of Law.  She went to private practice in a law firm and became a Branch Clerk of Court prior to joining the Bench. She is married to Gibb Andrew Cabahug, a Seventh-day Adventist who opened God’s word to Judge Ofelia. As a family they also learn bible truth from Amazing Facts storacles.

During the Law and Prophecy Series, she was invited by her sister-in law, Atty. Gizelle Cabahug-Fugoso, current president of Adventist lawyers of the Philippines, to watch the nightly meetings through Hope Channel. Judge Cabahug finds the presentation and analogies in the Law and Prophecy logical and direct to the point. Her questions on the doctrines in the Bible were further clarified. When Atty. Gizelle asked her if she would like to accept Jesus as her Savior and be baptized, Judge Ofelia readily gave her yes.

Together with Judge Ofelia, her children Gibb Stefan and Louella Isabel were also baptized in Adam’s Church in Davao City today.

The Adventist Lawyers of the Philippines hope to take an active part in sharing Bible truths in these last days. It seeks also to be involved in Church ministries particularly in the End it Now Campaign against Violence, stewardship, legal and public affairs and in pursuit of religious liberty.
