Indonesian Gospel Volunteer Ministry Spiritual Revival Service in Banten Welcomes 17 New Members in Baptism

On Sabbath, August 31, 2024, the "Relawan Injil Indonesia (Indonesia Gospel Volunteer) Ministry" organized a harvest event where seventeen people embraced the truth and received Jesus Christ as their Savior.

The event, held in Banten, brought together key leaders including Pastor Sugih Sitorus, president of the Adventist Church in West Indonesia (WIUM); Pastor Saiman Saragih, president of the Adventist Church in Jakarta Banten (JBC); Pastor Hemat Sibuea, director of Sabbath School and Personal Ministries for JBC; and Mr. P. Saragih, founder and mentor of Gospel Volunteer Ministry. Eva Imuly, volunteers’ coordinator of Gospel Volunteer Ministry, was also in attendance.

The combined worship service featured participants from four Fellowships of Believers (companies) managed by the ministry at Cikasungka, Maja, Tenjo, and Kotabumi, a recent addition.

This harvest was the result of ongoing Bible study groups, supported by local pastors and volunteers from INJIL Indonesia Ministry. Among those serving the region were Pastor Mantas Limbong, Pastor Andreas Ginting, and Pastor Afdhal Daniel, who worked closely with the Community Development Volunteers of the Adventists to lead these studies.

Gospel Volunteer Ministry has also organized the INJIL Volunteers Adventist Church in Cisoka as part of the Jakarta Banten Conference. The Cisoka church, under the leadership of Pastor Elthon Tahu, oversees 12 active Bible study groups, with support from Gospel Volunteer Ministry pastors. The ministry continues to strengthen its presence in the region, particularly in soul-winning and community outreach.

In addition to the baptismal service, the ministry leaders offered a special prayer for the newly opened “Helping Hands” Christian Kindergarten and Playgroup in Cisoka. Currently, the school serves 23 children from the surrounding area, providing both education and spiritual guidance.

Over the past 12 years, Gospel Volunteer Ministry has extended its reach throughout Indonesia, particularly in Banten, where it focuses on evangelism and humanitarian work. The ministry has established schools, orphanages, learning centers, and church buildings, while also conducting Bible study groups, distributing literature, offering free health services, and providing economic development programs. These efforts reflect the ministry's mission to spread the Three Angels’ messages in these end times.

Looking ahead, Gospel Volunteer Ministry and the Cisoka Adventist Church plan to expand their mission work by opening three new branch Sabbath schools in Maja, Cikasungka, and Pasar Kemis. The ministry leaders remain committed to preparing more people in Banten for the second coming of Jesus Christ.
