In Malaysia, Adventist motorcyclists share faith through a three-day caravan

      November 28, 2022

The Adventist Church planned a three-day motorcycle convoy in Sabah, Malaysia, and it took place from October 28 to October 30. It traveled 500 kilometers across the Tambunan, Keningau, Tenom, Sepitang, and Papar districts. More than 450,000 people reside in these five areas, and more than 1000 Adventists are among them. This inspired the Sabah church to launch a special effort for communicating faith that included the NDR-IEL, the Publishing Ministries, the Health Ministries, and Adventist Community Services.

With the theme “Reach the Unreachable” and “Every Ride is a Mission.” Adventist riders joined this ride to conduct various services, including distributing the missionary book of the year, community service, food distribution, and health screening. Throughout the three-day trip, all of the riders were divided into groups to do specific evangelistic work specified to them by the district pastor as a challenge to the rider when they reached a certain checkpoint of the ride.

"Reach the Unreachable" and "Every Ride is a Mission" are the themes of this event. The missionary book of the year distribution, community service, food distribution, and health screening were just a few of the services that Adventist riders participated in during this ride. All of the riders were split up into groups for the three-day trip to perform a specific evangelistic activity assigned to them by the district pastor as a challenge to the rider when they arrived at a certain checkpoint of the journey.

Following the Convoy with the ACS Van, Mrs. Doreen Lim, Director of Adventist Health Ministries and Adventist Community Services for the Sabah Mission, expressed hope that AHM and ACS will be called to similar events in the future so they may serve and minister together. Additionally, she stated that "there will be more collaboration to create meaningful and impactful ministry" in line with the NDR-IEL Sabah Mission's 2023 goal.

As a participant in the ride, Pr. Frankie Abidin, the director of Sabah Mission Publication, said, "With publishing... We sow the gospel seed and help bring as many lives to Christ... Let the leaflets and tracts, the papers and books, go in every direction. Which you can hand out as you have the opportunity," he said. "We pray that those who have received the book will be blessed, and it will bear fruit,” he continued.

“With the 200 Missionary books of the year that were provided to the bikers to distribute, we pray that those who have received the book will be blessed and it will bear fruit."
