In Cambodia, New Church Construction Project Commences in Mudolkiri Province

      April 2, 2024

Located over 350 kilometers away from the capital city of Phnom Penh, plans for the construction of a new church are underway in Mudolkiri Province, Cambodia. Individual donors, the Adventist Church in Southeastern Asia, and the Elder Conrad Vine-led Adventist Frontier Missions (AFM) ministry have all generously supported this initiative.

Cambodia's province of Mondulkiri (khaet) borders Vietnam to the east and south. It is the most sparsely populated in the nation, despite being the largest in terms of land area.

With a thriving Adventist population of 4,887 recorded in 2023, the church envisions an established Adventist presence in various communities in the nation through centers of influence like schools, churches, clinics, music schools, and more. This project in Mudolkiri is an opportunity where the Adventist church in the region can build connections and extend hope, love, and healing to the community.

The project, aimed at providing a sacred space and encouraging hope within the local community, marks a significant milestone for the region. As construction progresses, anticipation and excitement grow among residents as they witness the realization of this dream.

Pastor Hang Dara, leading the Adventist Church in Cambodia (CAM), attributes the success of such endeavors to divine intervention and the dedication of donors, ministries, and church members. CAM expresses gratitude for the ongoing support and emphasizes the need for sustained assistance to continue fulfilling its mission across Cambodia in the coming years.

“Establishing this place of worship in our city enhances our connection with the community. Our hope is that through this building, we can foster connections, initiate meaningful conversations, and help people develop a deeper understanding of God's boundless love for all," expressed Pastor Dara.
