Following the Footsteps of Pioneering Adventist Leaders in Indonesia, Literature Evangelists Commit to Continuing Gospel Momentum

      July 2, 2023

The Bi-Union Spirit of Prophecy (SOP) and Publishing Ministries Leadership Seminar, held from June 28 to July 2 at Universitas Adventist Bandung in Indonesia, concluded with a renewed commitment from around 200 publishing leaders and administrators from across the country. During the five-day convention, delegates were encouraged to carry on the Seventh-day Adventist Church's mission, building on the pioneers who began their work in Indonesia 134 years ago.

Pastor Roger Caderma, president of the Southern Asia-Pacific region, exhorted the attendees in a strong commitment message to totally give their talents, time, and resources to furthering the gospel mission. He reminded the delegates of the early missionaries' sacrifices, especially the literature evangelists who founded the Adventist presence in Indonesia in 1889. Their passion and unshakable commitment acted as a rallying cry for today's publishing executives and administrators.

"Not everyone is called to be administrators, teachers, or evangelists, but everyone has a place in the vast work field of God's mission," Caderma explained.

The Bi Union SOP and Publishing Ministries Leadership Seminar provided an opportunity for participants to reflect on the enduring legacy of Adventist literature evangelism in Indonesia. Delegates praised those who came before them for relentlessly disseminating Adventist material and spreading the message of hope. The convention served as a reminder that they must continue their pioneering efforts and spread the Adventist message to every corner of the country.

The delegates reiterated their commitment to continuing the gospel movement in Indonesia, inspired by the sacrifices of the past. The conference emphasized the significance of effective publishing tactics, the use of current technologies, and engaging with varied audiences in order to share the message of hope and salvation. Attendees were encouraged to use their skills, time, and means to further the church's mission, assuring that the pioneers' efforts were not in vain.

The seminar also emphasized the importance of expanding on the work of early missionaries. Attendees were given practical knowledge and insights to help them improve their leadership skills in the publishing ministry. Workshops, lectures, and panel discussions focused on techniques, efficient distribution routes, and the utilization of digital platforms to reach a larger audience.

The seminar acted as a call to service for the delegates, reminding them that they are an important component of the Adventist mission in Indonesia. They were encouraged to reflect the pioneers' spirit of sacrifice and dedication. The delegates play an important role in spreading the message of hope, faith, and love to the people of Indonesia through their work in publishing ministries.

Delegates of the seminar are inspired by a revitalized sense of purpose and a commitment to making a lasting contribution in their respective spheres of influence. Their commitment to carrying on the gospel momentum and honoring the sacrifices of the pioneers will influence the future of the Indonesian Seventh-day Adventist Church. Publishing executives and administrators are set to lead the charge in spreading the message of God's love across the country, with a focus on teamwork, innovation, and faith.

The Bi-Union SOP and Publishing Ministries Leadership Seminar delegates were motivated to reinvigorate their commitment to the Adventist mission, following in the footsteps of early missionaries and literature evangelists. With a strong commitment to service and an emphasis on innovation, these leaders are poised to maintain the gospel momentum in Indonesia, ensuring that the pioneering initiatives of the past are carried forward with passion and purpose.
