The baptism of over 120 individuals brought a wave of encouragement to the church in Sarawak, marking the successful conclusion of the city-wide evangelistic campaign, Impact Sarawak. Held at RTC Hall in Ulu Gedong, the campaign united churches and community members from across the region under the theme, “Jesus is Coming; Get Involved.” Designed to foster both community connection and spiritual commitment, the program gathered hundreds from diverse congregations, inspiring unity and active engagement in faith-centered initiatives.

Each evening saw over 200 participants gathering at various stations, reflecting a strong commitment from the local community. The event culminated on Sabbath with approximately 500 attendees, underscoring the program’s wide-reaching influence and collective dedication. Churches from Gereja Semalatong, Batu Kepit, Isu Baru/Langgir, Isu Semabang, Spaoh, Nyelitak, Tenggang Jaya, and others across Sarawak actively contributed to the event, highlighting the inspiring results of church members working together to make a meaningful impact.

The program, which ran from October 7 to October 12, featured three main stations with speakers from various congregations. Pastor Delkenz David, Stewardship Ministries Director of Sarawak Mission, led the gathering at Gereja Keniong Lama; Pastor Walter Suni, a church pastor in Sarawak, spoke at Gereja Spaoh; and Pastor Arnelio Gabin, Director of Nurturing Discipleship and Retention and Vice President for the Southern Asia-Pacific Division, addressed attendees at Gereja Kepayang.

Pastor Semilee Tajau, President of Sarawak Mission, underscored the urgency of the mission, stating, “Our involvement in evangelism will hasten the delivery of the gospel to our neighbors and community. We must all be involved.” He called for unity, urging everyone to actively join in this mission.

Pastor Gabin led the afternoon service, concluding the week-long series with a powerful message encouraging daily immersion in the Scriptures and a continuous pursuit of God’s guidance in joining His mission. Originally from the Philippines, Pastor Gabin’s message of hope and unity resonated deeply with attendees, leaving a lasting impact on all who participated.

The event marked a significant spiritual milestone, with 128 individuals making the choice to be baptized and accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. This moment of commitment underscored the transformative power of the IMPACT for Sarawak event and the dedication of the churches involved to nurturing a vibrant community of faith.

The leadership of local pastors was deemed instrumental in organizing and supporting the program. The ground preparation and guidance, along with the contributions of participating churches, made the event a success.

The IMPACT for Sarawak event exemplified the strength of community and the powerful outcomes of shared faith and commitment, embodying the theme “Jesus is Coming, Get Involved” as a call to action for all in the region.
