Adventist Professionals in Central Philippines Embraces Active Involvement in Ministry in the Workplace

      May 22, 2023

With a resounding display of commitment and unity, around 200 individuals participated in the Adventist Professionals' Convention held on May 12-13, 2023, at the Adventist Academy of Negros Oriental Siquijor, Inc. in Maayong Tubig, Dauin, Negros Oriental. The convention, themed "It is Time," brought together Adventist professionals from Negros Oriental and Siquijor provinces who were eager to explore avenues for active involvement in the ministry.

Pastor Nelson Paulo, Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) director of the Southern Asia-Pacific region (SSD), and Mr. Bernie Maniego, PARL director of the Adventist Church in Central Philippines (CPUC), graced the said convention. The event took on special significance as Pastor Paulo introduced a commemorative song in honor of the 160th founding anniversary of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Furthermore, the convention served as the culmination of evangelistic campaigns that had taken place throughout its territory from May 5-11, 2023. These campaigns witnessed numerous professionals actively sharing the Adventist message, resulting in the conversion of five individuals to the faith.

During the Sabbath afternoon program, attendees were inspired by the impactful messages delivered by Pastor Paulo, Mr. Maniego, and Mr. Arvin Busico, president of the Adventist Professionals in Negros Oriental-Siquijor. Following their messages, a solemn commitment ceremony took place, and later, AdPro officers and delegates participated in the signing of the commitment wall. This act symbolized their unwavering dedication to the mission of spreading the gospel.

The convention's theme resonated through the words, "Be instant in season, out of season," taken from the book "A Call to Service in the Master's Harvest Field" (p. 44). This call to service emphasized the importance of seizing every opportunity to share the truth and encouraged Christians to join hands with Christ in various forms of evangelistic work.
Enthusiastically embracing the invitation to unite in Christ and actively participate in the salvation of souls, convention attendees fostered a spirit of camaraderie and shared purpose. They demonstrated their unwavering resolve to serve as instruments of God's love and grace.

One participant expressed, "We are called to make a difference in this world. Let's get involved in saving souls and be united in Christ."

The Adventist Professionals' Convention concluded on a note of gratitude and praise, with participants acknowledging God's guiding hand in their collective endeavors. Through their united mission, these professionals expressed their commitment to advance the cause of Christ and make a lasting impact on society under His guidance.
