Pastors and church workers from across the Sarawak Mission gathered at the Kuching English Church on June 4, 2026, for a Seminar on Adventist Identity, an event designed to strengthen understanding of the Seventh-day Adventist Church’s mission, beliefs, and spiritual calling.

The seminar brought together church leaders and workers for a day of learning, reflection, and spiritual renewal as they explored the significance of maintaining a clear Adventist identity in a rapidly changing world.

Featured speakers included Pastor Felixian Felicitas, field secretary of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD), and Pastor Nelson Bendah, executive secretary of the Malaysia Union Mission (MAUM). Through biblical presentations and practical insights, the speakers emphasized the importance of remaining grounded in Scripture and committed to the distinctive mission of the Adventist Church.

Felicitas underscored the relationship between identity and mission, noting that Adventist identity is essential to the church’s existence and purpose.

“Our Adventist identity is integral, if not vital, to the very existence of the Adventist Church,” Felicitas said. “Our mission and ministry are shaped and propelled by our identity.”

Throughout the seminar, participants were reminded of the church’s calling to faithfully proclaim the gospel, uphold biblical truth, and prepare people for the soon return of Jesus Christ. The presentations encouraged pastors and workers to serve with renewed clarity, conviction, and dedication in their respective ministries.

In addition to the educational sessions, the gathering provided opportunities for fellowship and spiritual encouragement among leaders serving throughout the mission field. Organizers said the event helped strengthen unity and reaffirm a shared commitment to advancing the church’s mission across Sarawak.

Church leaders expressed gratitude for the opportunity to reflect on the foundations of Adventist faith and ministry while seeking God’s guidance for continued service.

The seminar ended with a renewed commitment among participants to remain faithful to Scripture, uphold Adventist beliefs, and actively participate in the mission of sharing the hope of Christ with their communities.
