Adventist Membership in the Southern Asia-Pacific Region Nears Completion of the ACMS

      May 7, 2024

The Secretariat Team of the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) has announced significant progress toward completing the Adventist Church Management System (ACMS) in the region. During the division's annual midyear meeting, it was reported that the migration to the new platform is nearing completion, with 95% of the transition already accomplished.

Since the start of 2021, the Southern Asia-Pacific Division (SSD) has witnessed fluctuations in membership figures. From 1,749,036 in 2021, it rose to 1,868,258 in 2022, then decreased to 1,594,150 in 2023, and further to 1,541,001 in the first quarter of 2024. The recent 15% decline within the SSD territory can be attributed to an extensive review of Redemptive Membership. This review, conducted to reconcile data between the Adventist Church Management System (ACMS) and the Archives, Statistics, and Research (ASTR), aimed to ensure the accuracy and consistency of membership records. Adjustments made during this process likely contributed to the reported decline in membership numbers. (Ref. Figure 1.)

Pastor Wendell Mandolang, Executive Secretary of the division, recognizes and commends the dedication of the secretariat team in the region for their unwavering support and commitment to the program's implementation, despite facing numerous challenges along the way.

"We deeply appreciate the tireless efforts of everyone involved in this transition. While we encountered various hurdles that delayed progress in the implementation phase, your perseverance and dedication are truly commendable," Pastor Mandolang expressed. "Through it all, we remain steadfast in our belief that God is guiding us, and your unwavering commitment reflects His goodness,” he added.

The full migration is expected to be completed in 2025.
