Adventist Church in Cambodia Hosts Successful Evangelism Event, Drawing Hundreds

The Adventist Church in Cambodia (CAM) organized a significant evangelistic event from April 24 to April 27, 2024, in Phnom Penh. Pastor Hang Dara, president of CAM, led the initiative, while Mark Schwisow, the church elder of one of the local congregations in Cambodia, oversaw its execution. Approximately 500 people attended each evening, coming from across the city to participate in the spiritual gathering.

The event, themed "The Road to True Happiness," featured Pastor Vadim Butov, an Adventist pastor from Melbourne, Australia, as the main speaker. Butov delivered inspiring messages centered on faith, hope, and personal transformation, which resonated deeply with the audience. Throughout the four-day event, attendees reflected on their spiritual journeys, culminating in the baptism of 31 individuals who publicly committed to following Jesus Christ. This significant moment marked a new beginning for these individuals and highlighted the powerful impact of the event’s messages.

Several months of dedicated preparation by the church community contributed to the event’s success. In addition to church members, many guests attended the full duration of the event, showing a keen interest in the spiritual themes presented. This collaboration between church members and leaders of the church in Cambodia highlights the importance of the involvement of everyone in making an evangelistic campaign successful.

Pastor Hang Dara extended his heartfelt thanks to Pastor Vadim Butov and his team for their financial and evangelistic support. He also acknowledged Elder Mark Schwisow, the Cambodia Adventist School administrators and staff, pastors, church planters, church members, and mission staff for their contributions. Their collective efforts emphasized the unity and dedication within CAM to fulfilling their spiritual mission.

The event not only highlighted the transformative power of faith but also underscored the unity and dedication of the church community in Phnom Penh. Church members continue to support and pray for the new believers and guests as they embark on their spiritual journeys.
